Plans are underway for St. Paul’s Centennial Celebration to be held on Sat. July 18th and Sun. July 19th. The Celebration will kick off on Sat. with an Open House at the church from 2-4 p.m. so friends can reconnect while viewing the displays of items from St. Paul’s history. On Sun., there will be a special worship service celebrating the traditions from our past along with our current customs. This service is being planned by the Worship Committee.
The Meal/Refreshments Committee is selecting a menu for the wonderful meal we’ll be providing to members and guests following the special worship service. Once the menu has been determined, the committee will put up a sign up sheet for food donations and workers.
The Invitations/Communications Committee has sent out Save-the-Date postcards to past members and friends of the church. An official invitation letter with details of the celebration is being written and will be sent to the same individuals in late May/early June. The Committee is also responsible for announcements in the newspaper and any advertising.
The Souvenirs Committee has ordered a 2nd edition of the “What’s Cooking in the Valley” cookbook which will go on sale soon. A “Cat’s Meow” wooden keepsake depicting the church building will also be available for sale. Special Centennial bookmarks are being made and will be available as mementos to all who attend the festivities.
The History Committee is gathering photos, articles, and artifacts which will be on display for the Centennial Celebration. They would like to encourage members and friends to share copies of photographs, articles, and artifacts which could be included in the displays. Contact Arden Greener with any questions or information you have for the History Committee.
Please mark your calendars and share the news with family members and friends of St. Paul’s!
